It’s that time of year again! The 2019 paint colors of the year have been announced by leading paint manufacturers. These colors are selected by color experts and designers to represent the colors that will define the upcoming year’s trends. Let’s take a look, and see what we think.
Sherwin Williams
How do you feel about 1970’s colors coming back in style? Yep, Sherwin Williams believes that “2019 will be a renaissance of the 1970s—with a twist.” So, what’s their pick for paint color of the year? Meet Cavern Clay (SW 7701) – a warm, orangey hue reminiscent of terracotta tiles and the American Southwest. Cavern Clay embodies a free-spirited, funky vibe with a splash of vintage sophistication. It pairs great with casual neutrals, like warm grays and deep browns, and contrasts beautifully with a dusty blue. Get a sample sheet of Canyon Clay HERE.
Benjamin Moore
I’ve been hearing some designers recently claim that “gray is dead.” Not according to Benjamin Moore! Their pick for the 2019 paint color of the year is the cool gray, Metropolitan (AF-690). This is a beautiful, calm, sophisicated color that will look great in any space. Get a peel-and-stick sample sheet of Metropolitan HERE.
PPG
I absolutely love this next color! Take a look at PPG’s 2019 paint color of the year – Night Watch (PPG1145-7). This is a luxurious, rich, classic green that is meant to emulate the restorative power of nature. This is a bold color, so if you feel nervous about painting your entire room, consider limiting it to an accent wall, doors (interior or exterior), or even furniture pieces. Take a look at this gorgeous green! Get a sample sheet of Night Watch HERE.
Behr
Behr’s paint color of the year for 2019 is Blueprint (S470-5), and it’s a gorgeous blue suitable for any room in the house. Use it in bathrooms, bedrooms, the kitchen, or the living room for an approachable, relaxing color. This is a color that would be great for painted furniture, as well.
Some lovely, bold colors in the mix for the 2019 paint colors of the year! My favorite has to be PPG’s Night Watch. What about you? Would you use any of these colors in your home?

Well I must be trending because I love grey and that behr blue is also very similar to something I have in my home. I think grey will never die!
I’m in love with PPG’s color for 2019. What a beautiful, old style green. It would look amazing on an old armoire I’m been meaning to refurbish
