Hi there! I hope you all had a great Fourth of July!  At the start of each month I like to talk about my project plans for that month.  It helps keep me organized, and gives a little preview of what’s to come. The bad thing is that sometimes I look back at the month before and see that there were a lot of things I had planned to do, but didn’t get done. Oh well, that’s the way life is, right?  Time passes quickly and things do not always go according to plan.

Here is a list of my July project goals…I think “goals” is probably a better word to use 🙂

#1 – Laundry Room

Back at the beginning of June, my big focus was going to be on my laundry room, and painting some furniture. For the laundry room, we are still in a bit of a holding pattern while we wait for materials (tile and countertop) to come in, but we did get the cabinets installed! So, there’s been some progress.  I think realistically it won’t be finished until mid-August, but I expect us to complete several parts of it this month.

#2 – Dresser Upcycling Project

I’ve been a busy bee with furniture upcycling projects lately! In June, I finished up two little storage cube makeovers – one became a beautiful, stenciled storage box and the other a fun, industrial toy box. My next project is a small 5-drawer dresser makeover. It should hopefully be done by this weekend, and I can’t wait to show you the transformation! As a little teaser, here is a “before” picture of the dresser. It’s unfinished, so it’s a blank canvas!

#3 – Barn Doors

I’ve got two barn door projects planned!  They are both going to be new closet doors for my kids’ rooms. These will be fun little projects, and the kids are really excited about it. For my daughter’s room, we will be making a chalkboard barn door, and painting it a bright pink/coral color.  It will be similar to the one in the picture below, but painted.

For my son’s room, we are going with more of an industrial, reclaimed wood look for the barn door. Hope Depot and Lowe’s have pretty some good ones to choose from…

Or we could make one, like this amazing corrugated metal barn door.

With  all these project plans, July promises to be another busy month!
