I love throw pillows. I think it’s a requirement to love them if you’re a designer. But seriously, they are magical! Pillows bring instant personality to a room, and act as a sort of thread that ties a design style together. If you’re updating a room in your home, but don’t have a lot of money to spend, pillows are a great way to bring a fresh new look to your space. There are so many places out there to shop for pillows, but I’m hoping to save you some time and effort by sharing my favorite sources. Here is a list of the best places to shop for throw pillows, ranked in order from budget-friendly to expensive-but-worth-it.
BUDGET-FRIENDLY
1. Target
If you’ve ever gone into Target for just one item and came out with a cart full, then you already know Target has great-looking home decor at fantastic prices. If you are on a budget, you’ll find the style you want at Target, along with prices that just can’t be beat. Right now, I’m loving the neutral colors and pattern of this floral pillow.

2. H&M Home
You may know them for their clothes, but H&M has some really cute home decor, too! Check out this nice charcoal gray lumbar pillow cover for only $17.99!

3. Society6
Society6 works with independent artists to produce one-of-a-kind pieces, including pillows! You’ll find unique pillows here (some with very funny quotes) at totally reasonable prices. And the great thing about Society6 is that a portion of every purchase goes straight back to the artist. There are so many great pillows to choose from, but here’s one of my favorites that I recently paired with navy and blush pillows for a client. Gorgeous!

MID-RANGE
If you’re ready to invest in some higher-quality fabrics and more sophisticated designs, these next shops are a great place to turn to. Yes, you’ll pay a little more for that magazine-worthy look, but the improved quality is worth it! TIP: Save some money by purchasing just the pillow covers from these shops, and covering your existing pillows (assuming they are the same size).
4. Pottery Barn
Pottery Barn does a great job of keeping up with color and pattern trends, so they always have fantastic pillows. I shop Pottery Barn pillows frequently for both myself and my clients. This Hudson ikat pillow is a favorite of mine.

5. The Pillow Collection
I discovered The Pillow Collection fairly recently, but have already placed several orders with them. They have a huge selection of pillows in every color, and the quality of the pillows and covers has been fantastic. I love so many of their pillows that it’s tough to show just one, but I like the chevron design and neutral colors of this pillow, paired with navy and white.

6. Etsy
Etsy is definitely one of the best places to shop for designer pillows and covers. You can often find the same fabrics that you’ll find at some of the higher-end shops, but at a slightly lower price point. There are so many pillow shops to choose from on Etsy, and the craftsmanship can vary from shop to shop, but my tried-and-true favs are Motif Pillows, DEKOWE, Spark Modern, and Pop O Color.

7. Jolie Marche
I first discovered Kristi and her shop, Jolie Marche, on Etsy, but now she’s got her own site filled with gorgeous pillows at reasonable prices that I just can’t get enough of. This pretty tan pillow is one of my favorites.

8. Tonic Living
This shop is a recent discovery for me, and I can’t say enough good things about their selection and company ideals. Not only can you buy pillows at a great price point, but they also sell fabric, so you can coordinate other things, like cushion covers and drapery.

9. Willa Skye
Willa Skye offers a beautiful collection of luxury pillow covers that are sure to elevate your home decor. I turn to this shop for their beautiful velvet and colorblock pillows, but they have some gorgeous patterned pillows, as well. Here is one that I have sourced many times for bedrooms, due to its soft blue color and subtle pattern.

10. Lulu & Georgia
Lulu & Georgia is not only one of the best places to shop for pillows, but they are one of my all-time favorite shops for home decor and furniture. They have a fantastic selection of pillows at a wide range of prices. If you’ve never heard of Lulu & Georgia, you need to check them out…like, today. Trust me, you’re gonna love them! They have so many different styles to choose from, but I’ve always loved this colorful pillow (perfect for a bohemian living room or girl’s bedroom).

SPLURGE-WORTHY
Sure, designer pillows can be expensive, and I get that it’s hard to even think about spending over $100 or even $200 on a single pillow. But sometimes they really are worth the splurge! That one special pillow can be THE thing that gives your living room a polished, designer look, or ties all of your bedding together. Pillows can be thought of like artwork – they can add a bold statement with color, pattern, and texture. My recommendation – rather than buying several inexpensive pillows that everyone else has, consider splurging on one special showstopper pillow, and then fill in around it with other less expensive solids and subtle patterns.
11. Serena & Lily
I absolutely love Serena & Lily for pillows! Their classic styles, color palettes, and patterns can’t be beat…but they are pricey. I really like the way their pillow colors coordinate together, so it’s easy to mix and match.

12. Arianna Belle
A gorgeous selection of custom luxury pillows is what you’ll find at Arianna Belle. When you’ve moved past the popular mass production stores, like Pottery Barn, and want your decor to match your discerning sense of style, it’s time to shop here. A customer favorite is this lovely geometric black and white pillow – it goes with everything!

13. Danielle Oakey Shop
Danielle Oakey also got her start on Etsy, and quickly found success with her fresh and stylish mudcloth and vintage pillow covers. If you sometimes struggle with how to group pillows together, this shop also sells pillow combinations. So, you can buy gorgeous sets of pillows that have been grouped together with a designer’s eye.

14. Caitlin Wilson
Caitlin Wilson has a great eye for timeless patterns and bright colors. One thing I love about this shop is that the textiles are designed as part of a collection, with coordinating colors and patterns that you can mix and match. 15. McGee & Co
Studio McGee is one of the most well-known interior design studios in the nation, and their shop McGee & Co features beautiful pillows that align with their signature clean and bright design aesthetic. One of my all-time favorites is this fabulous Oxford plaid pillow.

16. John Robshaw Textiles
John Robshaw is an artist turned textile designer, who travels the globe working with international artisans to create unique fabrics. You’ll find his pillows in luxury big-name shops, but you can go right to the source to shop for your home. Check out this gorgeous indigo bolster pillow!

No matter your budget, having unique and beautiful throw pillows in your room is one of the best ways to show off your style and personality. I’ve shared with you my favorite, and I think, the best places to shop for pillows. These are the stores I turn to first when I need pillows for myself and my clients, and I hope this list will make your pillow shopping a little easier.
