The Start of a Journey

I’ve done it!  I’ve started on my five-year plan.  I’m taking the first of many night classes at a local community college to get my certificate in Interior Design.

At the rate I’m going, it will honestly take about four or five years to finish all the classes, but I’m having so much fun.  I just love sitting in class learning all the theories and principles behind designing a living room or a kitchen. OK, so some of it isn’t exactly new information…you can learn a lot from the internet when you tackle your own DIY home improvement projects. But, there is so much that I know I will discover along the way during this journey I’m on. Not all of it just about interior design.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure what will happen at the end of five years.  Will I have the guts to make a career change?  After all, it makes no real sense to leave the great job that I already have. But, when you feel a tug inside to do something else, can you really just ignore it?  Well, I figure it doesn’t hurt to start down the path now.  After all, I don’t have to make any hard decisions now.  I’ve got four or five more years to decide! For now, I’m just going to enjoy the scenery along the way.
