Room Reveal – My Daughter’s Room

It’s finally done!!  Getting our house ready to sell was just the push we needed to finish my daughter’s room.  So, without further ado…

If you’ve been following along, you’ve witnessed the initial design, and then the building of the cabinets, daybed, trundle, and bookshelves.  It’s been a long journey of measuring, cutting, assembling, and mostly painting. As a reminder, here is what the room looked like before we started (mess and all!).

The building of the built-in cabinets and bookshelves, and the bed went along pretty smoothly.  Very time consuming, but relatively straightforward.  However, then came the crown moulding… No matter how hard we try, we always struggle with crown moulding.   I really feel like it shouldn’t be that hard, but it’s our nemesis.  We ultimately had to throw in the towel and pay someone to do it for us.

This design allowed us to remove a dresser and tall bookcase from the room, which made the entire space feel much bigger.  It feels fantastic to finally have it done.  My daughters loves it, and we are super happy with the way it turned out. Although I do miss the turquoise walls…
