January is almost over, but every month I write about our upcoming project plans, and this month I thought I would go bigger and talk about the entire year! We have some awesome changes that have been taking place in the Welsh household that I can't wait to share, so let's get started, shall we? We're in Business! That's right! Welsh Design Studio, LLC is officially a business in our [...]

Hello September! The start of the new month means that it's time to lay out our September project plans! This is going to be a very busy month for us. 2017 Trends and Designer Tips

By | 2017-08-22T08:47:05+00:00 August 22nd, 2017|Uncategorized|

I hope you are all having a great weekend! A few days ago, I attended a seminar put on by local, 25-year interior design veteran, Karen Jones. She just so happened to be the designer of my favorite house on the Parade of Homes tour this year, so I had to go and hear what she had to say. She talked about today's design trends, and a few general tips [...]

The bunnies left the nest!  I guess they only stay in their nests for 3 short weeks.  I came home from a soccer tournament over the weekend, and they were gone.  We miss them, but at least now we can start our gardening! OK, on to the subject of this post! The bathtub is one of those overlooked spaces in our home that could sometimes use a little TLC.  Maybe you [...]

Silicon Valley…a hub for technology innovation, and one of the most expensive places to live in the US.   I grew up here, and I’ve seen it change a lot over the years. I wanted to experience other places, so I went to college in Colorado and graduate school in Maryland.  But, when it came time to look for jobs, my husband and I decided to return “home” to be closer [...]

By | 2016-09-20T09:31:11+00:00 September 5th, 2014|Uncategorized|

What's your design style?  Well, now you can find out!  HomeGoods (LOVE that place!) has a style quiz that you can take that is supposed to tell you what your style personality preference is, and gives tips for how you can incorporate it into your home.  To find your style, you are asked to select 5 pictures that you like.  Not so scientific of a quiz, if you ask me, but fun nonetheless. [...]

The Start of a Journey

By | 2014-09-03T21:55:14+00:00 September 3rd, 2014|Uncategorized|

I've done it!  I've started on my five-year plan.  I'm taking the first of many night classes at a local community college to get my certificate in Interior Design. At the rate I'm going, it will honestly take about four or five years to finish all the classes, but I'm having so much fun.  I just love sitting in class learning all the theories and principles behind designing a living room or [...]
