Hi everyone! This is one of my favorite times of the year because our local, annual Parade of Homes is going on! The Parade of Homes is where local builders, craftsmen, and interior designers showcase their creative talents and provide an opportunity for the community to tour a selection of custom and model homes.

There are many different design styles, from modern to farmhouse, and I always get so many fresh and fabulous design ideas from each home! I love to share my favorites from the Parade of Homes because there are just so many beautiful rooms and inspirational ideas. So, let’s get started!

Best of the Parade of Homes

My favorite house on the tour so far, was an amazing urban farmhouse design. It’s full of shiplap and built-ins, and we all know that I’m a total sucker for built-ins! The next several pictures are all from this incredible house…

Check out this adorable kids homework nook! Do you see that awesome colored pencil holder in the background? On the right side of the wall was a chalkboard…so cute!

Would you take a look at this gorgeous mudroom?  I love the gray color, the clean lines, and fabulous functionality of this design!

The bedrooms in this house were all so beautiful, but I think this one was my favorite. I just love the board and batten wainscoting combined with that fun architectural wallpaper. The sophisticated black, white, and pink color scheme is just perfect for a teen girl’s bedroom!

This next image is of the pantry just off the kitchen. It had wonderful built-in shelving all around the room (it extended behind me in the picture, too), plus that great countertop for food or beverage prep. It also had a fun door that swung forward and back to enter and exit the pantry. Super creative!

This house had so many nooks and crannies, and each space was filled with built-ins. Love, love, love!! Look at this great office space! I adore the combination of shiplap, brick, and wood – such a great industrial farmhouse look!

This next room was a den, but could you imagine how fabulous this would be for a teen boy’s bedroom?

This was a great design for a boys bedroom! It used one of my favorite color schemes for boys!

This cute little desk nook was right off the boys bedroom. Love those sconces and butcher block countertop!!

This bathroom was so beautiful! I just love how the casual look of the shiplap combines with the dark navy cabinets and antique brass hardware. So pretty!

My family had to tear me away from that house, but there was more to see! 🙂  Check out this next girl’s bedroom. The chandelier wallpaper was only on two walls, but really made a statement!

This was the en suite bathroom for that cute chandelier room! That bubble tile was super fun!

I loved these simple, but effective built-in cubbies in this laundry room. I can imagine putting folded laundry into the different cubbies for each family member. Maybe some baskets in the other cubbies – lots of storage options with this design!

This was a cute little mudroom. Love that train bulletin sign!

Check out this creative wine storage idea! This was in an open nook under some stairs. I love how they tiled the wall behind the wine racks!

I really liked this art gallery wall that was in the office of one of the houses. The ledges are super easy to make, and I’ve been looking around for places in my home where I could do something like this! The ledges give it a great industrial farmhouse look!

Can you believe this hand-painted wall design?!?! Very cool!

This was a beautiful wet bar! I just love that backsplash tile and floating shelves. We still need to add some tile in our wet bar, and I’m thinking this might be perfect!

OK, last pic for today. I really liked these floating white shelves, with the industrial-looking bracket on the sides. We are probably the only people on the tour who closely inspect things like this to see if we could make them ourselves. The answer… Yep! Totally DIY-worthy.

Well, that’s it for today. I hope you liked all of these beautiful rooms and creative ideas as much as I did! For more great design ideas, check out last year’s post on the 2016 Parade of Homes. Also, tune in later this week for the Best of the 2017 Parade of Homes – Day 2!
