Have you seen the 2017 paint colors of the year? I know it’s April, but today I finally took a look at the new colors, and was surprised by what I saw. Shades of gray are still king, but there are some really beautiful purples coming into play. Let’s take a look together, shall we?
Benjamin Moore
Benjamin Moore’s color of the year for 2017 is Shadow (2117-30). It’s a beautiful, deep, dusty purple. Benjamin Moore calls it “elusive and enigmatic.”
Sherwin Williams
The color of 2017 for Sherwin Williams is Poised Taupe (SW 6039). Sherwin Williams describes it as cozy and warm, like the feeling you get from the “glow of candlelight, a toasty drink, and the company of family and friends.” It’s a traditional mix of brown and gray, but with purple undertones. I love it in the bathroom pic with the white trim and black accents.
Kelly-Moore
I don’t have a lot of experience with Kelly-Moore paint, because I usually use Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore colors, but it’s great to see all the different colors of the year. For 2017, Kelly-Moore has selected Kettleman as their color of the year due to its dark shade that is “inspired by nature.” It’s a dark, warm gray that works well as a neutral or accent color.
Dunn-Edwards
The Dunn-Edwards color of the year is Honey Glow . It’s a vibrant, warm yellow, with green undertones. Not sure this is going in my house anytime soon, but it’s a beautiful yellow.
Glidden
Glidden’s pick for 2017 is Byzantine Blue. It’s another purple-gray, but with more blue in it. According to Glidden, “Byzantine Blue is truly a purple in disguise. It stretches the boundaries of purple to borrow all of best qualities of blue and gray, making it an appealing color choice for nearly any room.”
What do you think of the paint colors of the year? Do you like these new colors? Would you use them in your home?
